Activia yoghurt packaging made of sustainable raw materials
Packaging material based on PLA has also been used in the past in the food and beverage industry on many occasions. The example of “Activia” uses PLA for mass-produced products and is thus considered trend-setting as the application within industry is particularly challenging.
In contrast to previously used PS pots, the use of fossil-based raw materials is reduced by 43 %. By eliminating the aluminium metallization in the cover foil, a further resource is saved.
In our evaluation, we considered in particular the reduction of fossil-based raw materials.
Due to the ongoing and still wide-ranging social-political debate on the use of agricultural areas, these aspects are not yet given enough consideration.
